The mission of IRE AKARI INC is to promote West African culture, primarily that of the Republic of Benin ("Benin") in the United States, and raise money to support and make grants in support of specific program activities of public school students in Benin. The organization gets it name from the Yoruba phrase meaning "good things to come." As an active partner, leader and catalyst we will assist Beninese, other West African culture groups and the disadvantaged attain social and economic equality and stability through direct services and advocacy.
Specific Activities
Ire Akari would pursue two broad goals: (1) promoting West African culture, particularly in culture of Benin in the United States, and (2) fostering educational opportunities for students in primary and secondary public schools.
